Adam Schiff to Run for U.S. Senate Seat Held by Feinstein
Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff On Thursday, he announced his candidacy to the U.S. Senate seat currently held in California by Senator Dianne Feinstein.
“Our democracy is at great risk. Because GOP leaders care more about power than anything else,” Schiff shared a tweet with a link to a video that announced his campaign. “We’re in the fight of our lives—a fight I’m ready to lead as California’s next U.S. Senator.”
Schiff was reelected for a seventh term in November. He now represents California’s 30th Congressional District. He was a prominent lawmaker and chairman of the House Intelligence committee from 2019 to 2022. He also served as a foil for Republicans in the first impeachment investigation. former President Donald Trump.

Feinstein, who is 89 years old, has not yet declared her intention to run for reelection. She is the oldest sitting senator at the moment and it is widely expected that she will announce in the next months that her intention to retire from office.
