Adam Schiff has more money than the DNC and Biden in tough California Senate race.
Rep. Adam Schiff’s Senate Campaign Outpaces Competitors and Presidential Candidates
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has not only surpassed his California Senate opponents but also major parties and all presidential candidates in terms of campaign funds. According to Federal Election Commission filings, Schiff’s Senate campaign reported an impressive $29,800,863.87 in cash on hand at the end of the second quarter, from April 1 to June 30.
That figure far exceeds his two top opponents in the California Senate primary. Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) recorded $10,383,669.44 on hand at the end of the second quarter, whereas Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) recorded $1,400,816.73 on hand.
Not only does Schiff have a $19 million advantage over Porter, but he also surpasses all presidential candidates in terms of cash on hand during the same period.
Presidential Candidates’ Cash on Hand
- Former President Donald Trump: $22,516,390.86
- President Joe Biden: $20,125,373.93
- Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL): $12,239,427.96
Even the political parties themselves reported less cash on hand compared to Schiff, with the Democratic National Committee reporting $27,164,625.39 and the Republican National Committee reporting $12,729,531.54 at the end of the second quarter.
“It’s abundantly clear that Adam’s message and record of results are resonating with the people of California,” said Schiff campaign manager Brad Elkins in a press release.
The California Senate race is expected to be highly competitive, with Schiff and Porter emerging as the frontrunners. A recent poll from the Public Policy Institute of California shows Porter with a slight edge of 19% over Schiff’s 16%.
With such a significant financial advantage and strong support, Schiff’s campaign is poised to make a significant impact in the 2024 Senate race.
