Woman abandons dog at PA airport, flies to resort, officials report.
Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty for Abandoning Dog at Airport
In a shocking incident, a woman named Allison Lyn Gaiser has been charged with animal cruelty and related offenses for intentionally leaving her dog at Pittsburgh International Airport before boarding a flight to Mexico. The authorities made this announcement on Thursday.
According to Allegheny County Police, Gaiser attempted to bring her brown-and-white male French bulldog with her on a flight on August 4th. However, the airline denied boarding to the dog as it did not meet the criteria for an emotional support animal and did not have a proper kennel.
After being denied boarding, Gaiser was captured on surveillance cameras pushing the dog in a stroller back towards a moving walkway enclosure near the airport’s exit doors. Approximately 40 minutes later, a county police officer discovered the dog unattended in the stroller in the short-term parking lot.

Fortunately, the dog was unharmed and had a license and identification microchip. It was handed over to an animal care facility and is currently in a foster home, where it is doing well.
When Gaiser returned to the airport on August 10th, she was met by a county police sergeant. She admitted to leaving the dog behind because the airline wouldn’t allow it on the plane, but claimed that she had made arrangements with her mother to pick up the animal at the airport.
However, upon reviewing text messages between Gaiser and her mother, authorities found no evidence of an immediate arrangement for the dog’s pickup.
Gaiser’s mother, who learned about the incident from Gaiser’s ex-husband, informed the county police about her lack of knowledge regarding the situation.
As of now, no contact information for Gaiser could be found, and there is no attorney listed for her in court records. Her initial court hearing is scheduled for October.
