Chicago has seen multiple shootings heading into the weekend, with one dead and at least 16 wounded. The shootings occurred Friday into Saturday, where the victim’s ages ranged from 14 to 54-years-old.

Last weekend, 44 people were shot in the Windy City. Seven of those were fatal.

According to reports, there have already been more than 500 murders in Chicago so far this year. Police said they have seen an 11 percent increase in the number of shooting victims compared to this time last year.

This comes as police officers have reportedly turned their backs to Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Some have said they believed the city’s leadership was not supportive of them.
