New reports are sparking serious concern about the safety of Americans stranded in Afghanistan. A Thursday Politico exclusive alleged the Biden administration gave the Taliban a list of Americans and allies who need to enter the Kabul airport.

This prompted Republicans like congressman Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) to say handing this information to a terrorist group dead set on killing Americans is “insane.” He took to Twitter to express his concern on the matter.

During a press conference on Thursday, Joe Biden did not deny allegations from the report. Instead, he fumbled through a response suggesting it very well could have happened.

“I cant tell you with any certitude that there’s actually been a list of names, there may have been,” he stated. “But I know of no circumstance…doesn’t mean it didn’t exist, that here’s the names of 12 people that are coming, let them through…it very well could have happened.”

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) also weighed in by calling on Congress to immediately investigate this safety risk to hundreds of Americans still in Afghanistan. He noted on social media, “this is deeply concerning and reckless behavior, putting American citizens and our allies at risk.” Only time will tell if this concerning issue gets addressed.
