Jury finds Chauvin guilty on all charges

We are following developing news out of Hennepin County, Minnesota, where the jury has delivered its verdict on three charges in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, in the death of George Floyd.

The jury found Chauvin guilty of second-degree murder, guilty of third-degree murder and guilty of second-degree manslaughter.

The verdict came on the jury’s second day of deliberations. The 12 jurors began deliberating on Monday, following a full day of closing arguments.

The jury heard two weeks of testimony from witnesses called by the prosecution and several days of defense witnesses.

Chauvin’s bail has been revoked and sentencing will begin in eight weeks.
