RFK Jr. dismisses questions about loyalty to Trump, says he will not run in 2028

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. indicated on Friday that he will not run for president again in 2028, stressing his loyalty to President Donald Trump and his work tackling the chronic disease epidemic.

Kennedy dismissed any speculation he would run for president again as a “flat-out lie” and an attempt to “drive a wedge” between himself and Trump.

“Let me be clear: I am not running for president in 2028. My loyalty is to President Trump and the mission we’ve started,” he posted on X.

He praised his work advancing the “Make America Healthy Again” agenda since he assumed the role of HHS secretary. Kennedy unsuccessfully ran as an independent for president in 2024, before dropping out of the race and endorsing Trump.

He also defended his deputy chief of staff, Stefanie Spear, one of his longtime aides, after right-wing influencer Laura Loomer attacked Spear.

Earlier this week, Loomer told Politico she believed Spear was trying to “utilize her position to try to lay the groundwork for a 2028 RFK presidential run.” Loomer has led multiple pressure campaigns in the White House to get rid of staff in the Trump administration, at least one of whom has since been reinstated.

IS MAHA A MOVEMENT OR A GRIFT? EXPERTS STILL CAN’T QUITE DECIDE

In his defense, Kennedy called Spear “a fierce, loyal warrior for MAHA who proudly serves in the Trump administration.”

“We’ll keep moving forward, we’ll keep delivering wins, and no smear campaign will stop us,” he added.
