NRCC launches ‘Inside the Majority’ videos for 2026 midterms
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has launched a new video series titled “Inside the Majority” ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The series begins by featuring Representative Gabe Evans (R-Colorado), who represents a competitive district that the GOP is striving to retain to maintain its slim majority in the House. The video highlights Evans’ background as a police officer, his commitment to public safety, adn three pieces of legislation he has successfully passed. Evans emphasizes how his experience in law enforcement keeps him grounded in his role in Congress. His seat is considered a “toss-up” race according to the Cook Political Report, as Republicans work to defend their narrow control. The NRCC plans to continue showcasing other Republican lawmakers from swing districts through this video series.Meanwhile, Democrats are actively campaigning in competitive districts as well, aiming to gain seats and possibly flip the House in the upcoming election.
NRCC launches ‘Inside the Majority’ video series ahead of 2026 midterm elections
The National Republican Congressional Committee is set to launch a video series, beginning with Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), highlighting members in competitive districts as the GOP fights to hold the majority.
The video spotlights Evans’ experience as a police officer and his push for public safety while showing photos of his family. The NRCC highlights three pieces of legislation the freshman Colorado Republican has passed.
“Right now, I’m wearing my police boots. The same pair I wore when I was on duty as a police officer, and I do that for a reason,” Evans said in the one-minute biographical video. “It keeps me grounded… so when I put on these boots every morning, it reminds me of what I did as a police officer and it reminds me why I’m here in Congress.”
Evans’ seat is one of eight “toss-up” races for Republicans going into 2026, according to the Cook Political Report, as they fight to hold on to their ultra-slim majority. The NRCC intends to release more videos on other swing district Republicans in a series called “Inside the Majority.”
“With a background as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot, Army veteran, and law enforcement officer, congressman Gabe Evans brings unmatched experience to Congress. He’s delivering real results by cutting taxes, restoring fiscal sanity, and strengthening the rule of law. And he’s just getting started,” NRCC Spokesman Zach Bannon wrote in a statement.
CHUCK SCHUMER SEES THE LOWEST FAVORABILITY RATING IN TWO DECADES: POLL
Democrats are on defense in the House, with 40 seats rated competitive compared to the 29 marked competitive for the GOP. Democrats only need a net gain of three seats to flip the House. Historically, the House flips to the party opposite the White House in the midterm elections, as it has for the last five presidencies.
Democrats are also holding events in the districts to target competitive seats held by Republicans. A rally was held in Phoenix earlier this month, and another one is set to be held in Omaha, a seat held by Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), who announced his retirement earlier this year for the end of this Congress.
