Mike Johnson calls for Pam Bondi to ‘come forward’ on Epstein

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to “explain” her previous comments regarding the investigation into the late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Earlier this year, Bondi teased releasing the list of Epstein’s clients. However, neither her office nor the FBI has released it as promised.

Johnson took questions on what his next steps could be on the matter during the Benny Show on Tuesday. While President Donald Trump’s most recent comments on Epstein suggested he was moving forward and away from the topic, Johnson called for further explanation.

“I’m for transparency. We’re intellectually consistent in this,” Johnson said. “It’s a very delicate subject, but we should put everything out there and let the people decide.”

Johnson paraphrased Bondi’s promise that she had documents related to Epstein “sitting on my desk right now to review” while on Fox News.

“Pam Bondi, I don’t know, when she originally made the statement, I think she was talking about documents, as I understood that they were on her desk. I don’t know that she was specific about a list or whatever. But she needs to come forward and explain that to everybody,” Johnson said.

“I like Pam. I mean, I think she’s done a good job. We need the DOJ focusing on the major priorities,” Johnson added.

House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) suggested a hearing on the Epstein files. Ultimately, it will be up to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the committee’s chairman, to take up the cause or not.
