Dem States Want Americans To Fund English Classes For Illegals

The article discusses a lawsuit led by California and 21 other states, two governors, and the District of Columbia against the Trump governance. They are challenging the administration’s decision to withhold $6.8 billion in federal education funding-$939 million of which was for California-claiming the funds were unlawfully frozen. These funds, approved by Congress and scheduled for distribution on July 1, included money for adult education and after-school programs, some of which provide English classes for immigrants, including undocumented immigrants.

The trump administration halted the funding to review its appropriateness, citing concerns that some programs were promoting a “radical leftwing agenda,” including LGBT advocacy and illegal immigration support. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) alleged that some funds were going to organizations openly advocating for illegal immigration.

California attorney General Rob Bonta criticized the freeze, stating it endangered crucial educational programs that aid students in learning English and gaining access to technology. The administration’s review aimed to ensure funding aligned with conservative policy priorities.

The article also notes that recently, the federal government ended longstanding policies that allowed illegal immigrants access to certain federal aid programs such as Pell Grants, student loans, adult education, and Head Start preschool programs, citing that American taxpayers should no longer subsidize benefits for illegal aliens. The Department of Justice had also been working to restrict illegal immigrants’ access to in-state tuition benefits.

the piece frames the lawsuit as part of a broader political battle over immigration policy and federal funding priorities, criticizing Democratic states for prioritizing immigrants over American taxpayers.

California is behind an effort to force American taxpayers to fund English classes for illegal aliens.

The state — along with 21 other states, two governors, and the District of Columbia — filed a suit against the Trump administration, claiming that $6.8 billion in federal funding was “unlawfully frozen” from the states collectively, and $939 million from California alone.

The funds, which were approved by Congress, were set to be distributed on July 1, but the Trump administration said it has not made a final decision on releasing the funds. Many or all of the states suing are in violation of federal law in some way, whether it is Title IX, immigration policy, or some other issue.

Some of the funding was intended for adult education and after-school programs, which include classes for immigrants to learn English. The Trump administration reportedly chose to halt the overall funding because it was being used to promote a “radical leftwing agenda.”

The federal government said it is in the process of reviewing the grants to ensure they promote the policy priorities upon which Trump was elected, and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) noted that the initial review showed funding going toward homosexual advocacy and gender ideology, as well as to illegal aliens.

Some of the programs were not just allowing illegal aliens access to American taxpayer money, but the dollars were actually going to advance organizations that openly advocate for illegal immigration, according to the OMB.

Monday’s lawsuit claims that withholding the funding is “contrary to law, arbitrary and capricious, and unconstitutional,” marking yet another example of Democrats not caring one bit about the American people and putting people from other countries before them in a systematic fashion.

“With no rhyme or reason, the Trump Administration abruptly froze billions of dollars in education funding just weeks before the start of the school year,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a press release. “In doing so, it has threatened the existence of programs that provide critical after school and summer learning opportunities, that teach English to students, and that provide educational technology to our classrooms.”

The Department of Education said it does not comment on pending litigation.

Last week, several executive branch agencies finally ended a nearly 30-year period of the federal government encouraging illegal immigration by allowing illegal aliens to leech off of federal programs meant for Americans, including programs provided by the Department of Education.

American citizens were footing the bill for illegal aliens to have access to Pell grants, student loans, and adult, career, and technical education programs. Taxpayers were also providing aliens benefits from the Head Start program, which can include free preschool.

Before last week’s announcement, the Department of Justice had already been working on stopping illegal alien access to in-state tuition prices.
