Trump goes scorched earth on AT&T after suffering conference call woes – Washington Examiner

Former President Donald Trump expressed frustration with AT&T for technical difficulties during a virtual conference call with faith leaders from across the U.S. He took too Truth Social to voice his outrage, noting that this was the second time such issues occurred during an event aimed at connecting with religious figures.Trump urged AT&T’s executives to rectify the situation, as the call involved “tens of thousands” of participants. He later apologized to the leaders for the delays and suggested that future calls may utilize a different service provider, criticizing AT&T’s capabilities. This conference call aligns with Trump’s ongoing efforts to engage with evangelical Christians, especially during his term in office, which has seen an increased emphasis on faith-based outreach.

Trump goes scorched earth on AT&T after suffering conference call woes

President Donald Trump blasted AT&T for technical glitches that disrupted his “major” virtual conference call with thousands of faith leaders across the United States.

On Monday, Trump expressed outrage over the matter in a series of posts to Truth Social, saying AT&T had messed up for “the second time” during a faith-based outreach event with religious leaders.

“I’m doing a major Conference Call with Faith Leaders from all over the Country, and AT&T is totally unable to make their equipment work properly. This is the second time it’s happened. If the Boss of AT&T, whoever that may be, could get involved — It would be good. There are tens of thousands of people on the line!” the president said

In a follow-up post, Trump apologized to faith leaders “for the long wait” on the call, explaining the virtual event could have to be rescheduled and calling on AT&T to “get its act together.”

“Please pass along the word to the tens of thousands of people who are there. We may have to reschedule the call, but we’ll use another carrier the next time. AT&T obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing!” the president said.

Trump’s call with religious leaders comes as he has leaned hard into faith during his second and final term in office, transforming the White House into a haven for evangelical Christians. The president often talked about spirituality in the wake of the assassination attempt on his life during a Pennsylvania rally last July, saying God saved his life. A volunteer firefighter was killed in the attempt.

WHITE HOUSE RENEWS PROMISE TO DEFEND CHRISTIANITY IN U.S. DURING HOLY WEEK

He was particularly praised by evangelicals in April for touting a series of events marking Holy Week.

“What a contrast to Easter last year at the White House when President Biden declared the most holy day of the year on the Christian calendar ‘Transgender Day of Visibility,’” evangelist Franklin Graham said.
