‘Trump 2.0’ successes leave Democrats with little to run on in 2026: Joe Concha
The article discusses the early achievements of President Donald Trump’s second term, referred to as “Trump 2.0,” suggesting that these successes have left the Democratic Party wiht few viable strategies for the upcoming 2026 elections. Senior Writer Joe concha emphasizes that notable accomplishments, such as reducing inflation, stabilizing the economy, adn improving border security, might make it difficult for Democrats to formulate effective campaigns if the current positive trends continue.
Concha highlights a important moment from a past presidential debate that marked the decline of Joe Biden’s reelection campaign and stresses that Democrats face challenges in leadership and electoral strategy, especially with the rise of individuals like New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, whose policies could be detrimental. If the political and economic situation remains favorable for Trump, Democrats may struggle to resonate with voters in future elections.
‘Trump 2.0’ successes leave Democrats with little to run on in 2026: Joe Concha
President Donald Trump‘s second term in the White House has quickly produced several accomplishments, making life miserable for the Democratic Party, according to Washington Examiner Senior Writer Joe Concha.
Friday marked one year since the presidential debate that began the end of former President Joe Biden‘s reelection campaign. During the debate, Biden struggled to answer questions in front of a national audience, prompting prominent liberals such as actor George Clooney to demand he drop out of the race.
“It is remarkable that we’re only about 5 1/2 months into this second term, Trump 2.0, and the fact that we may have peace in the Middle East, the fact that Iran’s nuclear program has been decimated, the fact that you see core inflation at 2.3% — it was 2.1% last month — it was over 9% under Joe Biden. The fact that these trade deals are coming in now. The fact that border crossings are down more than 95%,” Concha highlighted on Fox Business’s Varney & Co.
“If the economy continues to take off, if the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ is signed, and many think that it will be eventually, then you have to ask the question: What can Democrats possibly run on in 2026 if we have peace, we have prosperity, and Donald Trump is seen as a leader that get things done?” Concha added.
Concha also said Democrats have “serious problems” if they think New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani can to lead the party to victory.
In his latest column, Concha wrote about why Mamdani’s plans to impose rent freezes and create government-run grocery stores would be bad for the city.
On X, Concha also called out Mamdani for a plan on his campaign website titled “Supporting Homeowners and ending deed theft.”
In the post, Mamdami says, “He knows how the city’s property tax system favors wealthier homeowners in gentrifying neighborhoods, has seen how the tax lien sale system leads to families losing their homes, recognizes how deed theft is displacing entire communities, and understands how the city lets speculators and slumlords box working class New Yorkers out of homes. And he has a plan to fix it as Mayor.”

“Hopefully the folks in this picture don’t live in “whiter neighborhoods”… Or else Zohran is going to tax them even higher,” Concha wrote.
“If New York elects this maniac, they deserve everything that comes to them. I would hope for the general election when more voters are brought in besides democratic voters, and there’s not a lot of Republicans or Independents left in New York, I would hope they make a more sane choice,” Concha told Varney.
