Andrew Tate and brother face slew of charges in UK including rape

Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, have been charged in teh United Kingdom with multiple serious offenses, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm. The Crown Prosecution Service announced that Andrew faces 10 charges relating to three women, while Tristan has 11 charges linked to one woman. The brothers have denied all allegations, claiming that any sexual interactions were consensual.Previously, they relocated from the UK to romania, where they operated a webcam business and have allegedly been involved in grooming women for online prostitution, including minors.

Tate garnered significant notoriety online for his controversial and often inflammatory remarks on social media, garnering a mixed and largely polarized response. Although the Tates had briefly returned to the U.S. earlier this year for promotional activities, they have as returned to Romania, where legal actions must be settled before addressing the charges in the UK.

The United Kingdom charged influencer Andrew Tate and brother Tristan Tate with rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, controlling prostitution for gain, and actual bodily harm.

The U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service announced 10 charges against Andrew Tate, 38, relating to three women, and 11 for Tristan Tate, 36, relating to one woman. Both have consistently denied any wrongdoing and claimed any sexual activity was consensual.

“We can confirm that we have authorized charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm against three women,” a CPS spokesperson said. “These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police.”

The Tates previously moved from the U.K. to Romania, where they bragged that laws were more lax.

“I’m not a rapist, but I like the idea of just being able to do what I want. I like being free,” Andrew Tate said in a deleted video clip.

The duo was arrested and confined to house arrest in 2023, shortly after skyrocketing to internet stardom over “manosphere” content that appealed to younger audiences.

Prior to internet fame, the two amassed a fortune through operating a sex webcam business. Romanian prosecutors have alleged the duo groomed dozens of women into becoming online prostitutes, including minors. Romania found at least 35 victims who alleged wrongdoing by the pair. Andrew Tate has bragged online about behavior that would widely be considered abusive.

Andrew and Tristan Tate were allowed to briefly return to the United States in February for a promotional tour, though they have since returned to Romania. CPS said the Romanian case must be settled before facing charges in the U.K.

Andrew Tate gained immense popularity beginning in 2022, producing inflammatory content he describes as “misogynist,” with clips posted over TikTok and other social media outlets. He remains a polarizing figure in the U.S., widely reviled on the Left and splitting opinions on the Right.
