Nancy Mace’s ex-fiance proclaims his innocence after latest accusations in the House

the article discusses recent accusations made by U.S. Representative Nancy Mace against her ex-fiancé, Patrick Bryant, during a House Oversight hearing focused on privacy issues.Mace alleged that Bryant used hidden cameras to film her and other women without consent, displaying what she claimed were nude images taken from these recordings. She accused him and other men of serious crimes such as rape and sex trafficking.

in response, Bryant proclaimed his innocence, stating that the accusations are false and malicious. He asserted that Mace is exploiting her Congressional position to defame him and has not pursued legal action outside of her public role. Bryant emphasized that he has fully cooperated with an ongoing investigation by law enforcement regarding the allegations.

This exchange highlights the complex interplay between personal relationships and public office, with both parties entrenched in their claims. Mace has a history of sharing her own traumatic experiences with abuse, which adds a layer to the public discourse surrounding the accusations.

Nancy Mace’s ex-fiance proclaims his innocence after latest accusations in the House

Patrick Bryant, the former fiancé of Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), said the congresswoman has abused her office to falsely accuse him of crimes including rape

During a House Oversight subcommittee hearing on “surveillance in private spaces” on Tuesday, Mace displayed a nude photo she said Bryant secretly took of her using hidden cameras. She accused him and three other men of rape, sex trafficking, and nonconsensually filming sex acts.

Mace, who earlier said she was “going there” and going to show her naked body, displayed several blown-up images of what she said was footage taken without consent.

In a statement to Fits News following the hearing, Bryant said Mace’s accusations were “false and outrageous.”

“I have never raped anyone. I have never hidden cameras. I have never harmed any woman. These accusations are not just false — they are malicious and deeply personal,” he said.

“Nancy Mace made these claims only while standing in Congress, purportedly shielded by legal immunity. If she believed them to be true and there was evidence to support her accusations, she would say them outside the chamber — away from her public role and protections, and pursue them through proper legal channels. She has not done so, because she cannot,” Bryant continued.

He continued to accuse Mace of exploiting her office to smear him.

“This isn’t advocacy. It’s an abuse and exploitation of her political position for the sole purpose of promoting herself politically. Her allegations are absolutely baseless,” Bryant said.

Mace is being sued for defamation by another man she accused after she took to the House floor earlier this year to allege sexual abuse.

All the men she has named in Congress have proclaimed their innocence. There is also a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigation that Bryant said he has fully cooperated with.

Mace has widely shared her story of being molested at a swimming pool when she was 14 years old and raped when she was 16 years old, leading her to drop out of high school.

“A rape is trauma and it’s not just something you can just shake off and forget, it’s something you remember for a lifetime,” she told Fits News. “I remember when, I remember where. I remember there were no sheets on the mattress. And I remember saying, ‘no,’ again and again.”
