Russia’s most heinous act: Abducting Ukraine’s children

Kidnapping Ukraine’s Children: A Story of Survival

Maria Lvova-Belova, Putin’s Commissioner⁢ for Children’s Rights,

⁤boasts that 700,000 Ukrainian‍ children have been taken ⁣to Russia “for their safety.” Among Russia’s War Crimes, kidnapping Ukraine’s children may be ‍the cruelest. Sadly, it exists on a horrific scale.

The Harrowing Experience of Two Abducted ‌Children

Sergiy Koldin

was 11 and his sister Ksenia 17 when they ⁢were kidnapped and sent to Russia two⁣ years ago. The Russians separated the children, and they ended up 900 miles apart. As ‍Ksenia explained in a recent in-person interview, ⁢the two didn’t see ‍each other for nine ⁣months. “It was the worst ⁣nine months of my life,” she said.

  • During her time in captivity, the Russians allowed Ksenia to continue her studies.
  • Despite constant brainwashing attempts, Ksenia remained ⁢steadfast in her love for Ukraine.

Ksenia was fortunate to discover⁣ a secret hotline‌ to Save Ukraine, an organization dedicated ⁣to rescuing Ukrainian children from Russian captivity. This modern-day Underground Railroad was her lifeline.

Mykola Kuleba from Save Ukraine took charge of Ksenia’s story. “We were‍ able ⁢to find⁤ little Sergiy,” ⁣Mykola began, “but ‍the immediate problem was, Sergiy didn’t want to come back.”

Kuleba

heard ⁤many similar stories: the Russians’ tactic of brainwashing abducted children to hate Ukraine. Their‌ mission extended beyond repatriation, focusing on mental health support for the traumatized‍ children.

Recovery and Hope

Ksenia,⁢ now 19, continues to recover from her ordeal. She is‌ determined to ⁤share her⁤ story, shedding light on the plight of abducted Ukrainian children ⁤and their families.

The ‍journey to recovery is ‌ongoing for Ksenia and her brother,‍ highlighting the need⁢ for support systems to address the ‍psychological impact of their abduction and indoctrination.

Ukraine’s battle extends beyond physical conflict; it encompasses safeguarding its future generations from the clutches of oppression and hatred instilled⁢ by abductors.

Mitzi Perdue ⁣is a businesswoman, author, anti-human trafficking advocate, and journalist reporting from and‍ about Ukraine. With a dedication to shedding light on critical issues, she continues to ‍raise awareness through her impactful storytelling.
