Kamala Harris: Biden Admin Pays Students to Register Voters, Work at Polls
Vice President Kamala Harris Sparks Outrage with Plan to Pay College Students for Voter Registration
Vice President Kamala Harris has ignited a firestorm of controversy this week with her announcement that the Biden administration will be compensating college students for registering people to vote and working at polling stations. In a recent statement, Harris revealed that students can now receive payment through the Federal Work-Study program for their non-partisan efforts.
Harris emphasized the importance of engaging young leaders in the democratic process and empowering them to strengthen their communities. However, critics argue that this move is a slippery slope towards the administration outright paying people to vote for them.

Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) responded to Harris’ remarks by expressing concern over the use of taxpayer dollars to mobilize voters. He referenced former Trump administration official Stephen Miller’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for details, and his own efforts in Congress to uncover the truth. Hagerty suggested that the Biden administration may be hiding their election-year plan.
Representative Bryan Steil (R-WI) condemned the Biden administration’s strategy as “unacceptable,” accusing Democrats of attempting to use taxpayer funds for their own get-out-the-vote initiatives.
Former Representative Scott Taylor (R-VA) took to social media to highlight the hypocrisy of the situation, questioning what the response would be if Republicans were to use taxpayer money to pay their perceived reliable constituencies for voter registration.

“This small help could create big outcomes in close precincts,” Taylor continued. “They scream ‘protect democracy,’ but this seems like election rigging in plain sight.”
