Pharmacies⁤ across the country are facing delays in fulfilling prescription orders due ​to a massive ​cyberattack targeting ⁢one of the‍ largest healthcare companies in ‌the United States.

Change Healthcare, a company responsible for processing⁣ orders ⁤and patient payments nationwide,⁤ discovered‍ a “cyber security ⁢issue” affecting its networks on the East Coast on ​Wednesday morning.

“Change Healthcare is currently experiencing a ⁣network interruption caused by a cyber security issue. Our experts are ‌actively working to address the matter. As soon as we ​became aware of​ the external⁣ threat, ⁤we took immediate action to ⁢disconnect our‌ systems in order to prevent further impact,” stated Change‍ Healthcare.

Other pharmacies across the‌ country​ have also ⁣reported disruptions in their ⁢operations due to the attack on Change Healthcare.

“We are ⁤currently experiencing a temporary​ pharmacy outage at the⁢ 22nd Medical Group. We apologize ⁤for any inconvenience ‌caused and appreciate ⁢your patience as we work diligently to⁤ resolve the issue. Our team‌ is focused on restoring complete‌ pharmacy services as soon ​as possible,” read a‍ statement from the 22nd Medical ‌Group, a medical ​center based around McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas.

“The estimated timeframe for⁣ resolving ​this issue is tomorrow or later. ⁣We will continue to monitor the situation and ⁤provide⁣ updates on our progress,” added the statement.

Furthermore, there is currently no publicly⁤ available information regarding the nature or origin of the ‌cyber security issue affecting ⁣Change Healthcare.

“There is a nationwide outage affecting some of the largest⁢ prescription processors in North America,” stated Michigan-based Canadian Lakes Pharmacy on social media.

“While we can receive your ‌prescriptions, we are unable ⁤to bill most​ insurance plans. If you‌ can wait a day⁢ or so to pick ‍up ‍your‍ prescription, that would be⁤ greatly⁤ appreciated. ​If you need it⁣ urgently,‌ we will do our best to accommodate your needs,”‍ mentioned Knight’s​ Pharmacy in Berea, Kentucky.

“Unfortunately, ⁤this is a national outage beyond our control. We hope‍ that‍ the situation⁤ will be resolved soon. ⁤We will prioritize filling our backlog of prescriptions as quickly​ as possible once the system is available. ⁤We‌ have not been given ⁢an estimated timeframe for⁤ service restoration. Thank you for your patience,” added Knight’s Pharmacy.

“We are aware ⁤that Change Healthcare is experiencing⁣ a network interruption ⁢that is impacting certain business operations, as well as the ⁢operations‌ of other companies⁣ nationally,” stated a spokesperson. “There is no indication that CVS Health’s systems ‌have been compromised.”

In addition, Naval Hospital Camp⁤ Pendleton in California announced ​that “all Camp ⁤Pendleton and associated pharmacies are unable‍ to process any‍ prescription claims.”

“At this ​time,⁤ we can only assist patients with emergency and ⁤urgent prescriptions from hospital providers,” the hospital‌ posted.
