Truck driver obliterates EV narrative in <2 mins.
Truck Driver Debunks the Electric Vehicle Myth
Truck driver and innovator Chace Barber of Canada’s Edison Motors recently delivered a compelling argument against the idea of fully electric semi-trucks and large vehicles. Speaking at an event showcasing his hybrid truck model, Barber was asked about the possibility of the trucking industry transitioning to electric vehicles. His response was clear and concise: ”No.”

Barber went on to explain that while advancements in battery technology and grid infrastructure could potentially change the situation, the current outlook is not promising. He pointed out that electric trucks would require massive battery packs, with a logging truck alone needing a three-megawatt battery pack. The weight of these batteries would pose safety risks on the road and accelerate road degradation.
Furthermore, insurance rates for electric vehicles would skyrocket due to their vulnerability to damage. Barber also highlighted the significant challenge of the power grid, emphasizing that the current infrastructure is insufficient to support the energy demands of electric trucks.
Despite these obstacles, Barber proposed a more practical solution: hybrid vehicles. By reducing fuel consumption and utilizing generators, hybrid trucks could achieve a 50-60 percent reduction in emissions. He questioned the logic of investing in fully electric technology that may not work for the majority of applications, leaving 100 percent of diesel-burning vehicles unaffected.
In conclusion, it is evident that electric technology is not suitable for large vehicles like buses, trucks, semis, and heavy-duty vehicles. Additionally, there is a lack of demand from consumers, as dealers are struggling to sell brand-new electric vehicles. Barber’s insights challenge the push for electric vehicles and highlight the need for a more realistic approach.
A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:
What if you woke up one morning and half of the people you count on had just vanished overnight?
That happened to me recently. I got up, came to work here at The Western Journal, and when I got to my office, literally half of our readers had vanished. They were just gone. We had been nuked by Facebook, and it had happened almost instantly.
But it was even worse. Facebook hit us at the same time 90 percent of advertisers had essentially boycotted us. “Brutal” is a word I’ve used a lot lately.
The fight for the truth is brutal. The fight for America’s soul is brutal. What the government is doing to Jan. 6 detainees is brutal. What surgeons are doing to confused children is brutal.
It’s a fight we must win. But we can’t win without you.
A subscription to The Western Journal will go much farther than you think. It costs less than a cup of Starbucks coffee, and for that small price you get access to ALL of our content — news, commentary, and premium articles — you’ll experience a radically reduced number of ads, and most importantly you will be vitally supporting the fight against leftism.
Can I count on you to subscribe today?
We need your help. Benjamin Franklin summed up the situation we’re all facing when he said, “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
We plan to hang in and fight. Please help us. Please subscribe today.
Sincerely,

How does the writer express their determination to overcome the situation and survive?
Of our ad revenue vanished. Yep, you read that right. Not only did we lose half of our readers, but we lost almost all of our revenue in one fell swoop.
Now, we’re not complaining. We’re fighters, and we’ll do what it takes to survive. But we could use your help. Will you partner with us by making a donation today, so we can continue bringing you the news that matters to you?
Thank you for your support, and God bless you.
