Trump’s Defense
Before boarding his plane to leave the state, Trump addressed the reporters and defended his actions, stating that he was simply “challenging an election.”
“I thought the election was a rigged election, a stolen election,” he explained. “And I should have every right to do that.”
Trump pointed to Democrats who have also claimed that elections were stolen from them, using their arguments as proof that he should be allowed to do the same.
Denial of Wrongdoing
Trump vehemently denied any wrongdoing and expressed his belief that the criminal cases against him were examples of ”election interference.”
“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong, I did nothing wrong,” he asserted. “And everybody knows that I’ve never had such support.”
He concluded by thanking the reporters for their presence and support, reiterating his right to challenge what he perceives as a dishonest election.
