Attorney Eastman surrenders to Fulton County jail, confident in vindication.
Former President Donald Trump’s Co-Defendant Surrenders, Vows to Fight Allegations
In a dramatic turn of events, John Eastman, the co-defendant of former President Donald Trump in Fulton County, has surrendered himself to authorities. With unwavering determination, Eastman declares that he and his fellow defendants will ultimately be “fully vindicated” of the crimes they are accused of.
“My legal team and I will vigorously contest every count of the indictment in which I am named, and also every count in which others are named, for which my knowledge of the relevant facts, law, and constitutional provisions may prove helpful,” Eastman said in a statement. “I am confident that, when the law is faithfully applied in this proceeding, all of my co-defendants and I will be fully vindicated.”
Eastman’s surrender took place on Tuesday morning, as confirmed by Fulton County Georgia inmate records. He has been assigned an inmate verification number and has already signed a bond agreement with Willis. Once the processing at the jail is complete, he is expected to be released. His bond has been set at $100,000.
It is worth noting that Eastman is also facing a disciplinary trial in California, where he stands accused of violating 11 ethical and statutory obligations in relation to his actions following the 2020 election and the events leading up to the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol. The trial, which is set to resume on August 24th, has been temporarily paused to accommodate his surrender in Fulton County.
As the clock ticks towards the August 25th deadline, there are still 17 defendants, including Trump himself, who have yet to surrender.
