Jordan responds to alleged threats against DOJ by Hunter Biden’s lawyer: ‘Evidence mounting’

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan: Hunter Biden’s Lawyer’s Warning Adds Credibility to Whistleblower Testimony

House Judiciary ⁣Committee Chairman Jim Jordan⁢ (R-OH) believes that a recent report regarding Hunter Biden’s ⁤lawyer warning the Justice ⁣Department about the possibility of President‌ Joe Biden being called to the witness stand if ‍charges were brought⁣ against his son only strengthens the credibility of the whistleblowers who have testified⁤ before Congress.

A trove of leaked emails⁣ has shown that ⁣in October 2022, DOJ prosecutors, led by⁢ now-special‌ counsel David Weiss, had enough evidence to charge the president’s son with tax and gun crimes. That’s when Hunter’s attorney Chris Clark lashed out at Weiss, saying the president would become a witness if his client were charged, Politico reported.

Jordan’s Perspective

Speaking to Hannity, Jordan expressed his disbelief at the‍ idea of Joe⁢ Biden testifying and facing ⁤cross-examination. ⁣He emphasized that it was highly unlikely to ‌happen,⁤ but acknowledged the pressure campaign that was being exerted on‌ the DOJ.

“They see the evidence piling up,” Jordan added. ⁤“They see the credibility of these whistleblowers, and they see what was ⁢reported this week.”

Jordan also⁢ raised questions about Hunter Biden’s interactions with his legal team, particularly referencing a reported meeting with impeachment lawyers in⁢ 2019. He wondered who Hunter was speaking to and ⁤suggested that it was all related⁤ to the Burisma controversy.

Furthermore, Jordan stated that the investigation would focus on the testimony of four FBI‌ and ‌IRS officials regarding an ⁣October 7, 2022, meeting. IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joe⁣ Ziegler had testified that Weiss claimed he did not have the authority to decide whether to charge Biden, a‍ claim that Weiss later denied.

House Ways ⁤and Means Committee Chairman ‍Jason Smith’s Perspective

House Ways and Means‌ Committee Chairman Jason ⁤Smith (R-MO) echoed Jordan’s sentiments,⁤ stating that the reported threats made by Hunter’s legal team towards the DOJ only added weight‍ to the testimony of Shapley and Ziegler.

Smith emphasized the significance of ⁣their testimony,⁤ stating, “They definitely changed ⁢history.”

On Monday, Jordan and Smith issued⁢ subpoenas⁤ to FBI special agents Thomas Sobocinski and Ryeshia Holley,⁢ as well as IRS Director of ‍Field ‍Operations Michael Batdorf⁣ and IRS Special Agent in ⁤Charge Darrell ⁤Waldon.
