Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Accepts Debate Challenge from California Governor Gavin Newsom
During an interview on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis enthusiastically accepted California Governor Gavin Newsom’s debate challenge. The announcement was met with cheers from the audience.
The debate between California and Florida is already over. People have been voting with their feet for years.
But the debate about the future of our country is one we need to have.
I’m game to talk about my plans to reverse the decline in this country anytime, anywhere, because… pic.twitter.com/BbUKix8s5E

DeSantis: Let’s Debate the Future of Our Country
DeSantis expressed his eagerness to engage in a debate that goes beyond the comparison between California and Florida. He emphasized the importance of discussing the future of the United States, particularly in light of potential candidates like Joe Biden, Gavin Newsom, and Kamala Harris.
“Biden may not even be the nominee,” DeSantis stated. ”You could have Gavin Newsom, you could have Kamala Harris. And I think if we go down that direction, that’s going to accelerate American decline. We can’t see America decline anymore. We need to reverse.”

The news of DeSantis accepting the debate challenge comes as he continues to gain momentum in the Republican Party presidential primary. According to The New York Times/Siena poll, DeSantis is currently trailing only former President Donald Trump.
The poll also revealed that Trump’s dominance is not absolute, as 46% of respondents who chose Trump in the poll are “considering other candidates.” Other potential candidates, such as former Vice President Mike Pence, Senator Tim Scott, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, currently sit at 3% in the poll.
