Tim Scott tells Tucker Carlson that degrading the Russian military is crucial for America’s national interest.

Republican Senator Tim Scott: Degrading the Russian Military is a Critical National Security Interest

During an appearance at The Family Leadership Summit in Iowa, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) spoke with Tucker Carlson about his views on national security. Scott emphasized the importance of degrading the Russian military as a critical national security interest for the United States.

When asked about President Joe Biden authorizing the mobilization of up to 3,000 reservists to support Europe, Scott expressed his concern about U.S. soldiers getting involved in the war between Russia and Ukraine, which he referred to as a “genocide.” He stated that by degrading the Russian military, the U.S. can ensure the safety of its home front and NATO allied partners, reducing the need to send soldiers overseas.

Scott further criticized President Biden’s understanding of America’s vital national interests, stating that the primary objective should be to engage with those interests and keep American soldiers at home. He highlighted the need to secure the land contiguous with Ukraine to achieve this goal.

Working Towards Ending the War in Ukraine

During their discussion on the war in Ukraine, Scott and Carlson explored potential solutions to bring an end to the conflict.

Dealing with Illegal Immigration

Scott also addressed the issue of illegal immigration and how he would approach the deportation of those who are in the United States unlawfully.

When asked about dealing with the millions of illegal aliens in the country, Scott acknowledged the difficulty of deporting them all at once. However, he emphasized the importance of ensuring that they do not become American citizens by breaking the law.

Carlson challenged Scott, asking how many of them he would deport. Scott responded by suggesting the need to start the process of identifying their whereabouts. Carlson then pointed out that advancements in technology make it easier for the government to locate individuals.

Playfully, Scott responded to Carlson’s suggestion of dropping them off in Tijuana by appointing him as the “bye bye” ambassador to figure out a solution together.
