DeSantis gets GOP pushback for 2024 bid.
Governor Ron DeSantis Announces 2024 Presidential Bid
Hold on to your hats, folks! Governor Ron DeSantis has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. The announcement came on Wednesday evening during a Twitter Spaces livestream with Elon Musk, but it wasn’t without its glitches.
Despite the technical difficulties, DeSantis is ready to take on a crowded field of contenders, including former President Donald Trump, Senator Tim Scott, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Trump Takes Aim at DeSantis
While DeSantis may have once had Trump’s endorsement, the former president is now taking shots at the Florida governor. Trump has criticized DeSantis for lacking “political skill” and “personality,” and has even posted videos and images on his Truth Social and Instagram pages targeting the governor.
But DeSantis isn’t backing down. He’s ready to fight for the nomination and prove that he’s the best candidate for the job.
Republicans Weigh In
While some Republicans, like former New Hampshire GOP Chairwoman Jennifer Horn, have criticized DeSantis’s campaign launch, others are showing support. Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson called it the “very beginning parts of a campaign” and welcomed DeSantis to the race.
It’s still early in the game, but one thing is for sure: the 2024 Republican primary is going to be a wild ride.
