‘Did This Just Say PEACEFUL?’: Riley Gaines Unloads On San Francisco State’s Response To Assault
Riley Gaines, a former NCAA athlete, unloaded on Ed Jamillah Moore. D., vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at San Francisco State University, over her response to a protest at the Turning Point USA event last week.
Gaines was allegedly assaulted and surrounded by trans activists at the event, forcing her to barricade herself in a locked room for protection. At one point, protesters also demanded that she pay them for safe exit from the building.
In response to the incident, Moore wrote a letter praising the protesters for maintaining their composure in the face of “abhorrent” viewpoints and asserting that they had engaged in peaceful activity.
I apologize if this just said PEACEFUL. I was attacked. I was held at random and extorted. Gaines responded to the letter by saying that the protestors demanded that I pay them if I wanted to return home safely. We must have different definitions of peaceful because I was barricaded in a classroom and missed my flight home.

Gaines went on to say that if the protests had been peaceful, she would have been happy to engage the protesters in discussion. “I have no problem with ‘peaceful’ protest. I actually welcome it. I was grateful to see a diverse crowd in the room during my speech which I expressed multiple times. We had great dialogue and listened to each other. But that ambush was the opposite of peaceful.”
@DrJamillahMoore you write this??? Do you need more video proof??? Allow me pic.twitter.com/NYUqolH3Um

Gaines immediately turned to Moore and said, “@DrJamillahMoore you write this???” Are you still looking for video evidence? OK, I’ll go.
Gaines sent Moore a copy of the incident’s footage, and Moore ostensibly blocked the outspoken swimmer after that.
“The woman who released the statement following the riot where I was verbally and physically assaulted at @SFSU (to which she called peaceful) blocked me,” Gaines tweeted. “I guess it’s easier for her to ignore me than to denounce violence against women. She won’t be able to ignore my lawsuit.”

Gaines has announced that she planned to sue the university over the incident, and her agent has called for the expulsion of the students involved.
