Joe Rogan Moves Sold-Out Vancouver Show Over Vax Mandate

Podcast host and comedian Joe Rogan has canceled a live show in Vancouver, Canada, scheduled for April 20, 2022.

Rogan announced on his Facebook page on Wednesday that the show has been rescheduled to October 24. The update comes days after Rogan voiced concern on his podcast that he may have to cancel the April 20 show over the country’s vaccine mandate. As The Daily Wire reported:

“I should probably say this because I haven’t yet,” Rogan revealed. “My 4/20 show that’s sold-out in Vancouver, I don’t think that that’s happening.”

Rogan added he did not even think he could enter Canada under its current restrictions and his vaccination status.

“I don’t think I can even get into the country. I’m not vaccinated. I’m not going to get vaccinated. I have antibodies. It doesn’t make any sense,” Rogan stated.

The podcast host also argued that even if he could host his show that he was concerned the city would cut capacity similar to experiences in Toronto.

“I don’t think I can go, and even if I do go, I don’t trust that Vancouver is not going to follow suit the way Toronto did it where they cut capacity to 50%.”

While Rogan is unvaccinated, he has recovered from COVID-19 and gained some measure of natural immunity to the virus. The popular podcaster announced in September that he had come down with the illness and began receiving a mix of treatments such as monoclonal antibodies and the antiparasitic drug ivermectin. Rogan’s announcement kicked off a number of spurious claims in the media that he was using animal dewormer to treat COVIID-19.

Rogan has continually said he is not anti-vaccine for those who chose to receive it. He is against mandating the vaccine, however, and has offered refunds to fans who otherwise would have been compelled to get vaccinated in order to see one of his shows. In August, Rogan offered refunds to all fans who opted not to get vaccinated in order to attend his show in New York City. As The Daily Wire reported in August:

Podcast king Joe Rogan said on his show last week that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s vaccine mandate for indoor entertainment put him in an awkward position. He’d already sold 13,000 tickets to his live comedy show at Madison Square Garden but has gone on the record opposing vaccine requirements. “I don’t know what to do. I’m stuck in this situation,” Rogan lamented.

The 54-year-old comedian solved the problem by offering refunds to anyone who doesn’t want to get the vaccine.

“If someone has an ideological or physiological reason for not getting vaccinated, I don’t want to force them to get vaccinated to see a f***ing stupid comedy show,” Rogan said. “And now they say that everybody has to be vaccinated, and I want everybody to know that you can get your money back.”
