Tragic Shooting Leaves Five Family Members Dead in Ohio Home
In a heartbreaking incident, police performing a welfare check at an Ohio home made a devastating discovery. Inside the residence, they found the lifeless bodies of five family members, all victims of gunshot wounds. Among the deceased were Jason Dunham, 46, his wife Melissa Dunham, 42, and their three children: Renee, 15; Amber, 12; and Evan, 9.
The shocking incident took place in Lake Township around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, as reported by Uniontown police. While authorities suspect a domestic dispute that turned deadly, it remains unclear who fired the fatal shots. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have refrained from providing further details at this time, including the reason for the welfare check and the identity of the person who requested it.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation was present at the scene to assist in collecting and documenting evidence. However, all inquiries regarding the case have been directed to Uniontown police, who have jurisdiction over a portion of Lake Township.
Edmond Gadzacko, a neighbor of the Dunham family, expressed shock and disbelief over the tragedy. He described the Dunhams as friendly neighbors with whom he had never encountered any issues. Gadzacko mentioned that his grandchildren often played with the Dunham children during visits.
The children attended schools within the Lake Local School District, according to Superintendent Kevin Tobin. In response to the devastating event, the district has activated its crisis response team and provided counselors for both staff and students.
Mr. Tobin expressed his condolences and stated, “It’s a very, very tragic incident, and we will just rally as a school community and as Lake Local community.”
