190 House Democrats support gas vehicle bans.
Sometimes, Democrats in Congress Seem to Live in a Different World
It’s as if they inhabit an alternate universe fueled by wishes and fairy dust.
Their outrageous approach to crime has already turned California into a nightmarish place, where thieves can brazenly walk into stores, steal, and walk out without consequences.

And if that wasn’t enough, they also want to save the world by taking away your gas stoves and pizza ovens.

But it doesn’t stop there. On Thursday, 190 House Democrats voted against the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act,” a bill that would prevent states from restricting the sale of gas-powered cars as part of climate change efforts.
Despite the bill not specifically mentioning California, it aimed to counter the state’s request to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035, a request supported by 17 other states with similar vehicle standards, according to The Hill.
The Biden administration opposed the bill, claiming it would hinder California’s ability to address air pollution challenges.
Fortunately, the bill still passed, but it raises questions about the Democratic Party when only eight of its members in the House supported it.
Republican Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington, chairwoman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, voiced her support for the bill.
“This legislation ensures that Americans can choose the vehicles that best suit their lives. It’s about providing options for practical, functional, and affordable cars,” Rodgers said in a news release.
Banning gas-powered cars and forcing Americans to drive EVs would compromise our grid reliability.
California has had to ask people not to charge their EVs during blackouts—and EVs make up ONLY 4% of vehicles in the state.

“The answer is not through restrictive government mandates,” Rodgers emphasized. “Yet that is exactly what President [Joe] Biden’s EPA, California, and others are trying to do.”
She expressed concerns about the impracticality and affordability of such mandates, as well as the potential consequences of relying on China for electric vehicles.
Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, called Democrats’ actions to restrict gas-powered vehicle sales “MADNESS.”
First, Extreme Democrats tried to ban gas stoves, and now they are going after gas-powered vehicles.
This is MADNESS.

Rep. John Joyce of Pennsylvania, the bill’s sponsor, argued that California regulators shouldn’t dictate what vehicles are sold in other states.

Despite the compelling arguments presented by Rodgers and others, including the practicality, cost, infrastructure, and reliance on China, 190 Democrats voted against banning electric vehicle mandates.
This raises the question of whether they are delusional or willing to sacrifice the country and its citizens to push their radical agenda.

How does Stefanik’s statement reflect the disconnect between Democrats in Congress and everyday Americans?
Ik of New York also expressed her disappointment in the Democratic Party’s lack of support for the bill. “This is a clear example of how out of touch Democrats in Congress are with the reality of everyday Americans,” Stefanik said in a statement.
The actions and proposals of Democrats in Congress serve as a stark reminder of their detachment from the concerns and priorities of the American people. Instead of focusing on issues that directly impact the lives of everyday citizens, they seem more interested in pursuing their own ideological agenda.
The examples highlighted in this article, from the lax approach to crime in California to the proposal to ban gas stoves and pizza ovens, demonstrate a lack of practicality and common sense. It is as if Democrats in Congress are more concerned with virtue signaling and appeasing the most extreme elements of their base than with enacting policies that will benefit the American people.
Furthermore, the overwhelming opposition to the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act” raises questions about the unity and coherence of the Democratic Party. With only eight Democrats in the House supporting the bill, it is clear that there is a significant divide within the party on important issues.
In contrast, Republican representatives like Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Elise Stefanik have shown a commitment to practical solutions and a willingness to listen to the concerns of the American people. They understand that government mandates and restrictions are not the answer, and that Americans should have the freedom to make choices that best suit their needs and lifestyles.
It is time for Democrats in Congress to bridge the gap between their lofty ideals and the realities faced by everyday Americans. They need to start listening to their constituents and working towards practical solutions that address the pressing issues of our time. Otherwise, they will continue to inhabit a different world, one detached from the concerns and priorities of the American people.
