Multiple Shootings Rock Milwaukee Neighborhood
MILWAUKEE—In a series of violent incidents that unfolded over the weekend, thirteen people were injured and one lost their life in three separate shootings, all occurring just blocks from each other, according to Milwaukee police.
One of the shootings took place on Sunday evening around 8:30 p.m. near 13th and Mitchell streets. Four individuals, including a 29-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, and a 26-year-old man, were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, as reported by WISN-TV Milwaukee.
A 22-year-old suspect was apprehended, and charges are pending, according to the police.
Approximately an hour later, at 9:45 p.m., tragedy struck again when a 56-year-old Milwaukee resident was fatally shot just a couple of blocks away near 16th and Bruce streets. The shooter remains at large, leaving the community on edge.
This incident occurred in close proximity to another shooting that took place on Saturday around 11:45 p.m. near 14th and Burnham streets, where nine individuals were wounded. The victims, ranging from 16 to 42 years old, included six males and three females. Fortunately, all of them are expected to survive, as confirmed by the police.
A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested in connection with the Saturday shooting, and authorities managed to recover a firearm.
As of now, the police have not disclosed any motives behind these violent acts.
