Several Democrats took aim at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) following his nursing home scandal and multiple sexual harassment allegations. On Friday, 10 House Democrats issued statements that called for the New York governor to resign after facing allegations from a seventh accuser.

The list included state representatives such as Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.). This came after New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called for Cuomo to resign.

“The governor and his team have been trying to cover up the truth,” De Blasio noted. “I mean, we’ve gotten report after report of purposeful efforts to cover up the facts that the public deserves. We saw it with the nursing homes. We saw it with the Tappan Zee Bridge. We’re now seeing it with horrendous efforts by staffers to silence women who are trying to speak their truth.”

So far, 55 state lawmakers and several others have urged the embattled governor to resign. However, despite growing calls, Cuomo has repeatedly said he has no intention of stepping down.
